Lately, Willie Nelson has become a strong influence in my house.
I pulled out my 3 CD-collection"Revolutions Of Time" and listened to tunes like "Old Friends", "In The Jailhouse Now", "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain"...
Excellent stuff.
I was so moved that I went to my vast (!)(?) music collection and procured my copy of his duet album with Ray Price, an excellent LP called "San Antonio Rose." Every song is phenomenal.
But I am not done...
I then whip out a 20th anniversary "Outlaw" CD that features Waylon and Willie and the Boys...er that is Jessi Colter. Excellence still rules.
After all that Willie-ness, I decided to start reading Willie's latest book, "Roll Me Up And Smoke Me When I Die."
I will have a review soon.
What I have learned throughout this journey of Nelson is that this guy is truly a musical genius, his simple yet complicated method of playing guitar, his lyrics (just listen to "Seven Spanish Angels", with Brother Ray Charles...ooo-wee) outstanding,
Country music done the old school way is pretty incredible...
